Our Club
Sherwood Archers is situated in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. In the heart of Sherwood Forest. (Robin Hood Country). We are a very friendly and social club, as well as being a registered charity. (Charity NumberĀ 1079456)
We have two shooting venues, the outdoor venue which is open all year round 24/7, (No floodlights yet though), is wide enough for 28 targets. Club members can use this facility free of charge, guests affiliated to Archery GB need to pay 3.50 per day and must produce their Archery GB Card. The indoor venue, used during the winter months is situated in Rainworth, at the Joseph Whitaker School. This is available on Fridays only, between 7.00pm and 9.00pm, there is room for 10 targets and up to 25m distance.
Throughout the year we host many competitions such as Club Shoots, Open Competitons and including many UK & World Record Status Competitions!
We have a wide spectrum of archers at the Club from beginners level, Club, County, Regional, National and International level, (Including a Gold Medal Winner in the Athens Para-Olympic Games 2004).
We cater for both abled and disabled bodied people of all ages, as well as catering for all bow types. We make sure that all of our members that wish to shoot in any of our competitions are catered for where possible. Indeed we have been very privildeged to have had many disabled archers compete in the Shoots we have hosted, including a delegation from the Blind Archery Society who attended our UK Record Status FITA in June 2008
