The outdoor winter season is not very busy, but we got under way on the second weekend in November. On the Saturday, Jason and Linda Millard organized a short [140yds] Clout Shoot, followed by a barbecue. Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon – Jason was the winner, followed closely by Mark Burton and George Brown. Shooting sucker-arrows indoors while we waited for the food was dominated by Ethan Lamb who had worked out which of the arrows stuck to the target the best!

On the Sunday we held our first Frostbite of the season. It was the centenary Remembrance Day, and we held our two-minute silence at 11 o’clock .  Seventeen archers shot the 3 dozen at 30 metres, luckily in the dry. Winners were Mark Burton[recurve], Alex Atkins [compound], Carrie Mortimore [longbow]Steven Lamb [barebow] and Lukas Cole [Junior]

We hosted the East Midlands Archery Society’s Indoor Championships at Joseph Whitaker Sports Centre in mid-November. Susan Stankovic organized the event and Mario Stankovic was Judge and Patron.  111 archers shot in this 3-session 18metre shoot. Best results by our members were : Carrie Mortimore [2^ndLady Longbow and Handicap group winner]; Megan Purchase [4^thLady Barebow]; Darran Lowe [11^threcurve]; Andy Mortimore [3^rdLongbow] and Alex Atkins [11^thCompound].
