Georges Newsletter Mar 2020

Our record-status Open Clout re-arranged for the start of March, after the storm the week before had caused it to be postponed. Organised by Jane Burton, the shoot was held at a field in Kirklington, by kind permission of Mr. Tim Farr, where 47 archers shot at a  flag distance of 165metres , with shorter distances down to 75metres for different classes.Judges were Mario Stankovic and Mike Thomason.  Our members scored well again. Jason Millard [1st barebow] had a great day, with just six arrows outside the scoring zone out of seventy-two arrows shot, and the 4th best score of the whole shoot. Other placings were David Salmon 3rd and Alan Stevens 5th recurve, Lee Waterfield 5th and Mark Burton 6th barebow and Alice Wood-Stevens2nd recurve at 125m.A good set of results.

Winners of the winter series of Frostbites were Paul Woods [recurve], Alex Atkins [compound], Carrie Mortimore [longbow], Jane Burton [barebow], Lee Waterfield [flatbow], Grace Fieldwick [jnr recurve] and Ethan Wood [jnr barebow]

Winners of the indoor Bray series were Lee Waterfield [compound], Stephen Lamb [recurve], Carrie Mortimore [longbow] and Jane Burton [barebow].

We have had a good winter season, but now all archery has been cancelled until further notice, and we wish everyone well in the difficult times to come.
