The end of the indoor season was a busy time. 34 members took part in the Indoor Championships,shooting a half Portsmouth round of 30 arrows. Our champions were Lee Waterfield[compound], Tristan Armes [recurve], Andy Mortimore [longbow], Jodie Hayde [barebow], and juniors Joanne Bennett [longbow], William Burnett [recurve], Anna Wood [barebow].
Winners of the monthly Bray Round[30 arrows on a small target face were Lee Waterfield[c], Stephen Lamb[r],Carrie Mortimore[lb], Jodie Hayde[bb] and Matthew Sales[jr.
The last Frostbite of the year was shot by 19 members, and medals were awarded for the best Frostbite scores of the season to Darren Lowe [rec], Jenny Bryan [comp],Richard Gentle [lb] Jodie Hayde [bb], Jason Millard [fb], and Juniors William Burnett[rec], Jo Bennett[lb], Lukas Cole[bb] and Ethan Lamb[fb].
The weekend before Easter members shot at the first outdoor tournaments at Belvoir and Bingham. Darren Lowe was 2nd recurve gent at Belvoir’s world record status 720 round.
Eight members went to Bingham’s Spring Western, in conditions more like mid-winter, so that they all hunkered down for lunch in Stephen and Serena’s tent to keep warm.Four medals were brought back to the club: Stephen Lamb 1st gent recurve, Linda Millard 2nd lady recurve, Serena Lamb 3rd Lady recurve, Alex Atkins 3rd gent compound.
