At the end of March, the Inter-Counties Clout Championship was held at Kettering.Serena and Stephen Lamb, shooting as the Notts Barebow Team came second, and Serena’s score was a new county record for ladies barebow one-way clout at 125 metres. Well done,Serena.

On the eve of St George’s Day,six of our members went to the Western round [60 and 50 yards] at Bingham Leisure Centre Archers ground, and came home with medals: Ethan Lamb won the junior short length competition; Robin Carter was 2nd longbow and Richard Gentle 3rd; Stephen Lamb was !st Gent recurve and Serena Lamb 2nd Lady recurve. Great results all round

The first Beginners’ Course of the season is under way, organised by David Salmon, so we hope to have some new members soon.

Details of courses can be found on our website.

Twenty archers, members of Sherwood Archers and other local clubs, attended a First Aid Awareness session, presented by Mario Stankovic at our club-house. Mario provided us with an informative and entertaining evening, and those attending received their certificates of attendance which are a requirement for coaches of all levels,

Last and by no means least is the news, just received, that Jenny Bryan has been selected for the England Junior Archery Team for this season. This is a mark of recognition of the high level of shooting that she has achieved, and we offer Jenny our congratulations.
